The Project Schema

Projects are of many sorts and most will require definition of a new schema or customisation of an existing schema either before they can begin or during their development. Both spheres and their inter-relationships must be defined.

Templates

Standard schemas are available from Systems Advisers Ltd. They cover methodological variations and the major differences found between in-house architectures and those needed for package or bespoke system development and management.

Customisation

Details of the customisation facilities can be found below in the Facilities page of the Main Menu. They allow the definition of both spheres and relationships or their re-definition as project needs change. Two forms, the Sphere Definition Manager and the Relationship Definition Manager are used to define the details of sphere and relationship definitions. NOTE that no sphere or relations tables exist until the sphere or relationship has been defined. The forms may be chosen separately from the Facilities page of the main menu.

Reviewing the Schema

On either form, you can click the View button to review the outline of the current schema  or print a complete schema report by clicking the Print button and choosing the required option. The View button displays the schema viewer form on which a map of the relationships currently defined for the whole project is shown. The forms can also be individually printed to record a snapshot of an old, current or proposed definition.

Some Technical Details

As mature use of Strategy SAVIŽ may require a greater depth of detail, information about forms, fields and other parameters are summarised in Technicalities.
